As of today, leading validators globally are officially joining Injective’s Equinox Staking testnet as genesis validators. These validators currently help to stake billions in assets for top projects such as Cosmos, Band Protocol, Elrond, Terra, Solana, and many others.
Injective's genesis validators will be instrumental for testing robust parameters of the network before mainnet launch, such as reward distribution and network security.
The graphic above provides a glimpse into some of Injective's major genesis validators.
All genesis validators were carefully chosen based on their past work and performance on other networks. Contributors analyzed aspects such as their uptime, assets under management (AUM), and knowledge of Tendermint-based chains. The community also sought to have a distributed network of validators across the globe in order to ensure heightened network speeds in different regions.
A major component of Equinox Staking will be to test the security features of the network. Many of these genesis validators are well versed in testing advanced attacks on network security and have conducted testing for major blockchains in the past. These optimized attack vectors will directly help to increase the security features of the protocol. As the community wishes for Injective to be the go-to exchange for users worldwide, security is of the utmost importance so rigorous testing will be critical for this phase.
In the coming days each validator will be featured in the spotlight so that the community can better understand their role in Injective moving forward.
In the coming days, the overall reward scope for Equinox Staking will be introduced. The genesis validators have already synced with Injective, so the delegation phase will be launched shortly. This will allow anyone within the Injective community to participate in the first-ever staking event for Injective.
Injective is the first cross-chain protocol built for decentralized finance applications. On the Injective exchange, anyone can access, create, and trade unlimited DeFi markets such as futures and perpetuals. Developers can also build cross-chain Ethereum-compatible projects that are lightning fast and achieve instant transaction finality. Injective is backed by a prominent group of stakeholders including Binance, Pantera Capital and Mark Cuban.
